Hadn't a clue...
soo i think i may have gotten a minor concussion this weekend, and that results in me listening to light and airy music today...
and i was reading the little blurb on the lastfm player and i had no idea that matt costa used to rip on a board. he actually was way into that before music, but a shattered leg put him and his guitar hand in hand.
lookyy:

lastFM says it nicely:
lastFM says it nicely:
"Yeasayer (pronounced "yay-sayer") takes place in the future, somewhere in the Middle East where citizens wear turquoise robes, live in crystal towers, and overindulge on Peter Gabriel albums. The band members are Anand Wilder, Chris Keating, Ira Wolf Tuton, and Luke Fasano. They describe their music as "Middle Eastern-psych-snap-gospel". The band first came to national attention after appearing at the SXSW festival in early 2007."
Oh shit.
you know that song that comes on right when your done smoking cob and you're just like, "shit! what is is this!" and then it's just like an amazing noise session for another 6 minutes...
this did it for me today...
(try it too.)

Monkey Biz-ness
if you stare at a monkey, this one for example, they look incredibly funny because they look like very odd looking humans.

Takashi Murakami
i saw his exhibit at the brooklyn museum of art this summer and it was INSANE.
these pictures cannot nearly suffice the effect of being in a giant room surrounded by these patterns.
-from tokyo
-developed his own style "superflat"
-attended tokyo national university of fine arts and music
...uh, he designed some stuff for louis vutton and kanye west.
and the thought that this stuff is done free hand is CRAZY! the detail is intense.
yo,
enjoy.

The Television Tells Us
"These tubes are our space suits,
Designed to gain us invitation to
The homes of the earthlings,
Who we hope to study,
And whose satellites would send us information
On the real life that you're living,
You are living!
Now you're stopping !
Just to sit, just to sit
In front of us and just watch,
Watch us televisions dream of life.
We came to earth just to look inside of you,
Look inside of us and you will find:
We want to be like you."
the music tapes were amazing last night. he (julian koster) sat in the the center of the room and played the singing saw.
it was an awesome show, the opening guys were crazy also.
this dude is nuts and makes me really want to learn the zither. (click)
and these guys got you moving! (click)
oddly enough, he had that same tee-shirt (and probably pants and shoes and socks) on last night.
